Connect ServiceNow to AI on Your Mac

Let Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants work with your ServiceNow instance locally on your Mac. Credentials stay on-device, nothing stored on a server.

The connect_servicenow tool links your ServiceNow instance to AI assistants running on your Mac through LMCP, a free, native macOS MCP server. You authenticate once with your ServiceNow username and password, and those credentials are stored locally on your machine — they are never sent to Claude's servers or any cloud. Once connected, your AI assistant can read and act on ServiceNow incidents, change requests, tasks and records the same way you would in the web UI.

A concrete example of what you can type after connecting: "Connect to my ServiceNow instance at acme.service-now.com and show me all the open high-priority incidents assigned to me." The AI handles the authentication and the query in one natural-language request.

Which AI agents work?

LMCP exposes 150+ tools to every major AI client. Desktop clients auto-configure over a local stdio connection — no manual setup beyond installing LMCP:

  • Claude Desktop
  • Cursor
  • VS Code (GitHub Copilot)
  • Windsurf
  • Zed

Web-based AIs connect through the LMCP Cloud Relay connector, which securely bridges the browser AI to the server running on your Mac:

  • ChatGPT
  • Claude.ai (web)
  • Grok
  • Perplexity

Whichever assistant you prefer, connect_servicenow behaves identically because the credentials and the actual ServiceNow calls live on your Mac, not in the AI.

Automation

The real power comes from chaining ServiceNow with the other 150+ LMCP tools. Once connected, you can ask your AI to pull a list of overdue incidents, summarize them, and draft a status email in Mail — all in one prompt. Or have it create a calendar event for a change window, then notify the assignee group over Messages or Slack. Because everything runs through the same local server, ServiceNow data flows seamlessly into Mail, Calendar, Notes, Reminders and Office documents without copy-paste.

Context

Your AI is not guessing from training data — it works with your real, live ServiceNow records and your real Mac apps. When you ask about "the P1 from this morning," it queries your actual instance and can cross-reference the related email thread, the meeting on your calendar, and the note you jotted down. That shared local context makes answers accurate and grounded in your actual work, not a generic template.

Productivity

Triaging incidents, writing handoff summaries, and updating ticket fields are the kind of repetitive ServiceNow chores that eat an IT professional's day. With connect_servicenow, a morning incident review that normally takes 20 minutes of clicking through the ServiceNow UI becomes a single sentence to your AI. Batch updates, weekly reports, and cross-tool follow-ups that once required several apps now happen in one conversation.

Privacy & GDPR

Everything runs locally on your Mac. Your ServiceNow username and password are stored on-device and used only to talk directly to your instance — there is no cloud copy, no third-party storage, and nothing passes through Claude's servers. This local-first design makes LMCP GDPR-compliant by architecture, which matters when your tickets contain customer or employee data. Download LMCP to get started.
