proton_connect

Proton Mail · macOS · Windows

Effect: write (strongest supported action). Status: gated.

Gated means the tool requires an installed app, a connected account, permission, or runtime availability. Check those requirements on the listed platform before using it.

macOS

Purpose

Reports whether Proton Mail Bridge answers on this computer and which Proton Mail accounts are connected to Local MCP. Proton Mail works through Proton Mail Bridge: it requires a Proton plan that includes Bridge, with Bridge installed, signed in and running on this computer. To connect an account the user copies the username and the Bridge password from Bridge into Local MCP's own settings window; they never pass through the AI, and the Proton account password is never asked for. The first call returns a preview; confirm: true answers.

Required inputs

No required inputs are declared in this platform's schema. Optional selectors and runtime requirements may still apply.

Permissions and confirmation

Explicit confirmation parameter: inspect the schema and tool description before any real call. The documentation example keeps confirm false. Obtain user authorization before performing the action.
