What the morning summary looks like

Instead of opening Mail to 40 unread messages, you ask once and get back something like: three messages that need a decision from you, two that just need a “yes, works for me”, one invoice to forward, and 34 newsletters and notifications safely ignored. The AI reads the real messages through Mail.app, so it quotes actual senders and actual asks — not guesses.

What you need

  • macOS 12+ with Mail.app configured (any accounts)
  • An AI assistant — Claude Desktop, ChatGPT (Developer mode, any plan), Claude.ai on the web, Cursor, or any MCP client
  • LMCP installed — free, one download, get it here; it configures your AI clients automatically

The morning prompt

Open your AI, and paste:

Prompt — paste into your AI
Summarize everything that arrived in my email since yesterday evening, across all my accounts. Group it into: needs a decision or reply from me, FYI worth reading, and safe to ignore. For anything that needs a reply, suggest a one-line answer.

Follow-ups that work well once the summary is on screen:

Prompt — paste into your AI
Draft the replies you suggested, one by one, and show me each before sending.
Prompt — paste into your AI
Which of these threads have been waiting on me for more than two days?

Make it automatic

LMCP also ships a daily_brief tool that builds the morning rundown — email plus today’s calendar and reminders — in one call: just ask for “my daily brief”. If your assistant supports scheduled tasks (ChatGPT’s scheduled prompts, Claude’s scheduled runs), schedule the prompt above for 8am and the summary is waiting for you with your coffee.

Private by architecture

The AI reads your mail through Mail.app on your machine — LMCP does not upload your mailbox anywhere, store it on any server, or need your email provider’s password or API. That’s the difference from cloud email-AI products: there is no copy of your inbox to leak. See how private AI email works.
