LMCP plugin for Claude Code

The LMCP plugin for Claude Code adds LMCP, a local MCP server, to Claude Code. Your terminal agent can then work with the apps on your own Mac or Windows PC, such as Mail, Calendar, files and Office documents, with tools that run on your computer.

What the plugin bundles

  • The entry that starts the LMCP MCP server, so there is no config file to edit.
  • Not the LMCP app: install it first, because the tools run there.

Install the LMCP plugin for Claude Code

  1. Download and install the LMCP app on your Mac (macOS 13+) or Windows PC (Windows 10+, 64-bit).
  2. In a terminal, run these two commands:
claude plugin marketplace add colibird-ai/local-mcp-claude-plugin
claude plugin install local-mcp@local-mcp

Check it with claude plugin list: it shows local-mcp@local-mcp, enabled. Then restart Claude Code; MCP tools load at startup.

Inside Claude Code the same two commands are /plugin marketplace add colibird-ai/local-mcp-claude-plugin and /plugin install local-mcp@local-mcp.

What it can do on Mac and on Windows

The plugin is the same on both systems; what Claude Code can reach depends on the apps LMCP supports on each one.

  • macOS: Microsoft 365, Apple Mail, iMessage, Teams, Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, OneDrive, Google Drive, Office, Zalo, Todoist, ServiceNow, Zoom, Notion, OmniFocus, Microsoft To Do, Browser automation, Video editing, Apple Calendar, Apple Reminders, Apple Notes, Apple Contacts.
  • Windows: Microsoft 365, Teams, Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram, OneDrive, Google Drive, Office, Todoist, ServiceNow, Zoom, Outlook, Microsoft To Do, Browser automation, Video editing.

Things to ask

  • Find the email where the client described this bug and summarize the thread before you touch the code.
  • What is on my calendar tomorrow? Tell me when I have two hours without meetings.
  • Read the spec in my Documents folder and list what this repository does not implement yet.
  • Open last quarter’s Excel report and write its totals as a Markdown table in the README.

LMCP executes local tools on your device. Cloud AI providers and connected services can receive requested data; their terms apply.
