Does gdrive_write_file need the Google Drive API or any keys?

No. It writes the file to your synced Google Drive folder on disk, and the official Google Drive desktop client uploads it automatically. There are no API keys, OAuth scopes, or cloud configuration to manage.

Will it overwrite an existing file?

Yes. gdrive_write_file writes or overwrites a text file at the path you specify, so you can both create new files and update existing ones in your Drive folder.

Is my file content sent to any server?

No. LMCP runs entirely on your Mac and writes directly to your local Drive folder. Only Google's official client uploads it, just like any file you save there yourself. LMCP stores nothing.
