Send Microsoft 365 email from your AI assistant

The m365_send_email tool lets your AI assistant compose and send an email directly from your connected Microsoft 365 (Outlook / Exchange Online) account — without leaving the chat. It always shows you a preview first, and only sends when you set confirm=true, so nothing leaves your mailbox until you approve it. A typical prompt looks like this:

"Email [email protected] from my Microsoft 365 account: subject 'Q3 numbers', body letting her know the report is attached and I'll call Friday."

The AI drafts the message, returns a preview with the recipient, subject and body, and waits. Reply "send it" (confirm) and the email goes out through Microsoft Graph from your real M365 address. Which AI agents work?

m365_send_email works with every major MCP-capable assistant:

• Desktop clients (auto-configure via local stdio): Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code (GitHub Copilot), Windsurf and Zed. They detect LMCP locally and wire up the tools automatically.
• Web AIs (connect through the LMCP Cloud Relay connector): ChatGPT, Claude.ai (web), Grok and Perplexity. Add the LMCP relay connector once and your M365 email tool shows up in the chat.

Automation

Sending is rarely a standalone act — m365_send_email shines when chained with other LMCP tools. The AI can read your M365 inbox with m365_list_emails, pull a contact's address with the Contacts tools, check your Calendar for the next free slot, then draft and send a reply that references all of it. Combine it with create_reminder to follow up, or with the Office docs tools to generate a report and email it in one breath. Because the AI orchestrates the whole sequence, "summarize this thread and reply with next steps" becomes a single instruction.

Context

The AI isn't writing from a blank slate. It works with your real Microsoft 365 mailbox, your actual contacts, your calendar and the files on your Mac. So when you ask it to "reply to the procurement thread and confirm the delivery date from my calendar," it reads the genuine messages and events — no copy-pasting, no re-explaining who anyone is. The send is grounded in your live data, which means fewer mistakes and far less back-and-forth.
