Automate Any Website with AI on Mac — Instagram, LinkedIn, X & More
Let an AI drive a real, logged-in browser on your Mac to automate any website — Instagram, LinkedIn, X, or any login-gated site. You sign in once yourself; the session stays connected. No API keys, no passwords shared with the AI, all local.
Some of the sites you use most — Instagram, LinkedIn, X, internal dashboards — have no local app or API an AI can plug into. LMCP gives your AI a real browser on your Mac instead. You log into a site once, yourself, in a normal window; the session stays connected, and your AI can then navigate, read, fill forms, click, and pull structured data from that site — the same things you'd do by hand, driven by a conversation. It works through LMCP, a free, native macOS MCP server. No API keys, and your password never passes through the AI.
How it works
LMCP ships a built-in browser and a set of agnostic web tools — they aren't tied to any one site, so the same handful of tools automate any website:
- web_login — opens a real browser window where you sign in (password, 2FA, CAPTCHA — all you). The AI never sees your credentials. The session is saved on your Mac and reused, so you don't log in again.
- web_navigate / web_read — go to a page and read its text or a compact list of its links, buttons and fields.
- web_find / web_click / web_type — locate an element by text or selector, fill a field, click. Anything that submits a form asks you to confirm first.
- web_extract — pull clean, structured data (a table, a profile, prices) into fields.
Try a prompt like: "Open LinkedIn, wait for me to log in, then find Jane Doe and draft her a message."
Save a flow and reuse it
Once a sequence works, ask your AI to save it as a recipe. A recipe is a named, reusable workflow — "message a LinkedIn contact", "post to Instagram", "pull this dashboard's numbers." Run it again anytime with one sentence, tweak it, and review exactly what each run did. State-changing recipes preview before they act, so a replay never posts or sends without your say-so.
Is my login safe?
You sign in yourself, in a real window — the AI never handles your password. The browser and its saved session live on your Mac; nothing about your accounts is uploaded. This is the same local-first model LMCP uses for everything else. Note that automating sites like Instagram or LinkedIn may go against their terms of service, so use it thoughtfully on accounts you own.
Which AI assistants can drive the browser?
- Desktop clients — Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and Zed auto-configure via local stdio.
- Web AIs — ChatGPT, Claude.ai (web), Grok and Perplexity connect through the LMCP Cloud Relay. Even then, the browser runs on your Mac and your login never leaves it.
