obsidian_search_notes

Obsidian · macOS · Windows

Effect: read (strongest supported action). Status: gated.

Gated means the tool requires an installed app, a connected account, permission, or runtime availability. Check those requirements on the listed platform before using it.

macOS

Purpose

Searches the notes of an Obsidian vault by text (`query`: note title and text, case-insensitive), by tag (`tag`: inline #tags and frontmatter tags; a tag also matches its nested tags), or both. Returns each note's path inside the vault, title, first matching line and tags, sorted by path, `limit` per page; when has_more is true, pass next_offset as `offset` for the next page. Reads the Markdown files: Obsidian does not need to be running.

Required inputs

No required inputs are declared in this platform's schema. Optional selectors and runtime requirements may still apply.

Permissions and confirmation

No explicit confirmation parameter is exposed in this snapshot. This does not grant permission to act: obtain user authorization before any real action.
