Catch Up on Teams, Slack and WhatsApp with One AI Summary
Back from vacation, or just from three hours of meetings? One prompt reads what you missed across Microsoft Teams, Slack and WhatsApp on your Mac and tells you what actually needs you. Local, free, no tokens.
You can have an AI summarize everything you missed in Microsoft Teams, Slack and WhatsApp with one prompt by installing LMCP, a free app that lets Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP assistant read those apps’ local data on your Mac. No Graph API, no bot tokens, no workspace-admin approval — it reads what you can already see, on your own machine, and nothing is uploaded anywhere.
The catch-up problem
A day of meetings or a week off means hundreds of messages across three apps — and the five that actually concern you are buried in channels you skim at 11pm. Scrolling is not catching up. An assistant that reads all three at once can separate “decision was made, affects you” from “217 messages of channel noise”.
What you need
- macOS 12+ with the desktop apps you use: Microsoft Teams, Slack, WhatsApp
- An AI assistant — Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Claude.ai web or any MCP client
- LMCP installed — free, download, auto-configures your clients
The catch-up prompt
Follow-ups once the summary is up:
Why no IT approval is needed
Cloud integrations for Teams and Slack need API tokens, bot registrations and often tenant-admin consent. LMCP takes the local path instead: it reads the Teams desktop cache and Slack’s local data on your own Mac, and WhatsApp through its desktop session. You see exactly what you already see — the AI just reads it faster. Nothing leaves the machine.
