Get an AI Summary of Your Inbox Every Morning on Mac
Start each day with a 30-second summary of everything that landed overnight — what matters, what needs a reply, what can wait. Works across every account in Mail.app, free, and your email never leaves your Mac.
You can have Claude, ChatGPT or any AI assistant summarize your inbox every morning by installing LMCP, a free app that connects the AI to Mail.app on your Mac. Every account you already have set up — iCloud, Gmail, Outlook, Exchange, IMAP — is covered in one summary: what arrived overnight, what actually needs you, and suggested one-line replies. It runs locally, needs no API keys or OAuth, and your email never leaves the machine.
What the morning summary looks like
Instead of opening Mail to 40 unread messages, you ask once and get back something like: three messages that need a decision from you, two that just need a “yes, works for me”, one invoice to forward, and 34 newsletters and notifications safely ignored. The AI reads the real messages through Mail.app, so it quotes actual senders and actual asks — not guesses.
What you need
- macOS 12+ with Mail.app configured (any accounts)
- An AI assistant — Claude Desktop, ChatGPT (paid plan for connectors), Claude.ai on the web, Cursor, or any MCP client
- LMCP installed — free, one download, get it here; it configures your AI clients automatically

LMCP also ships a daily_brief tool that builds the morning rundown — email plus today’s calendar and reminders — in one call: just ask for “my daily brief”. If your assistant supports scheduled tasks (ChatGPT’s scheduled prompts, Claude’s scheduled runs), schedule the prompt above for 8am and the summary is waiting for you with your coffee.
Private by architecture
The AI reads your mail through Mail.app on your machine — LMCP does not upload your mailbox anywhere, store it on any server, or need your email provider’s password or API. That’s the difference from cloud email-AI products: there is no copy of your inbox to leak. See how private AI email works.
