Claude could not be approved after moving to a new Mac

If this Mac came from another one, LMCP may fail when you approve Claude. Reinstalling LMCP on this Mac is the fix.

What you see

  • Claude could not be approved. The approval did not go through. Try again, or contact support if it keeps failing.
  • Could not reach LMCP’s server. Check the connection and try again.
  • The Claude connector stays in «connect incomplete». LMCP Doctor shows no problems and the network works.

When this applies

This Mac was set up with Migration Assistant, or restored from another Mac.

Why it happens

LMCP’s security key is tied to the original Mac and does not work after migrating.

How to fix it

  1. Click the LMCP icon in the menu bar, then More actions, then Uninstall LMCP….
  2. Sign in to your account at local-mcp.com/my-installs.
  3. In that same browser, download LMCP from local-mcp.com/download and install it.
  4. In claude.ai, remove the connector that stayed incomplete.
  5. Click the LMCP icon, choose Add AI clients…, add Claude and approve it.

What you lose

You approve your AIs again and give the macOS permissions when LMCP asks for them. Your mail, calendar and other data are not touched.

If it keeps failing

Contact support with the exact message and the case code.
