thunderbird_list_accounts

Thunderbird · macOS · Windows

Effect: read (strongest supported action). Status: gated.

Gated means the tool requires an installed app, a connected account, permission, or runtime availability. Check those requirements on the listed platform before using it.

macOS

Purpose

Lists the mail accounts of the Thunderbird profile on this computer: id, name, address, type (imap, pop3 or local) and folders, each with whether its mail is stored on this computer and how many messages it holds. Start here: the other thunderbird_* tools take an account and a folder from this list. Only messages stored on this computer are seen: for an IMAP account that is what Thunderbird has downloaded, not everything on the server. Thunderbird does not need to be running, and nothing in its profile is changed. Returns count 0 when no profile is found. Each entry's `permissions` carries only the permissions this service has (read, send, write; a key that is missing does not apply). true: allowed in the account's boxes (LMCP's icon → My apps → open the app's row → the account's Read · Send · Write) and the item accepts it. false: turned off there, or the item is read-only (`read_only`: true).

Required inputs

No required inputs are declared in this platform's schema. Optional selectors and runtime requirements may still apply.

Permissions and confirmation

No explicit confirmation parameter is exposed in this snapshot. This does not grant permission to act: obtain user authorization before any real action.
